Brooks, Leo Family telephone 7F23 circa 1961

Our phone number was 7F23 which meant 2 long rings and 3 short rings with 16 people on "one" party line. When my brother called from California when he was in the service mother would almost break her neck getting to the phone when it rang. If she was the first one to pick up the phone it sounded like he was in the room with her..if not the "rubber necks" would be listening to everything that Mom and my brother, Jerry were saying and she could hardly hear him talking!
